Joe Castellano: Founder and Principal

Mr. Castellano founded SecuritiesTech™ in 2005 as a project-based and retained search consultancy. Since that time, he has completed assignments across the US, Europe, and Asia, to the satisfaction of his client organizations.


At SecuritiesTech™, Mr. Castellano has successfully executed a variety of retained searches and special projects, including the placement of Analysts for Quantitative, Fundamental, and Risk, as well as key talent in Sales, Marketing, Research, Corporate Finance, and highly specialized Technology roles.


Prior to launching his firm, Mr. Castellano served as the VP of Technology Recruiting at Citadel Investment Group, where he was seminal in doubling Citadel’s organization between January 2004 and May 2005. He had direct global recruiting responsibility for large-scale development of the firm’s Global Equities Division, all Credit businesses, the firm’s central Execution, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and Core Financials Systems groups, and played a supporting role in the development of Citadel’s Global Markets Quantitative Strategies Division.

Prior to Citadel, Mr. Castellano spent four years at The Ayers Group in New York City, where he successfully placed candidates across industries including CIO, CFO, and Sector Heads of Sales level positions. His recruiting career began in 1997 at Computer Horizons Corporation at their Regional Recruiting Center in Denver.

Mr. Castellano received a B.S. in Sports Psychology and a Minor in Psychology from the University of Utah in 1997.

Outside the box:

Prior to his career in recruiting, Mr. Castellano spent five years working as an official for the US Ski Association’s Intermountain Division. He judged and organized freestyle skiing competitions including US Junior Nationals, the Deer Valley NorAm (FIS), and US Ski Team Selections. He also holds a Master Skydiving License with 960 skydives, 238 BASE jumps, a NAUI Open Water One License, and was a competitive amateur road cyclist, mountain biker, and freestyle skier.

Harry Plastik: Managing Director

Mr. Plastik brings a wealth of sales and recruitment experience to SecuritiesTech™. He has been a leader in recruiting and consulting services to top trading and financial service firms in: Capital Markets, Technology, Asset Management, Government Affairs, International Recruiting, and Business Development. Through his endeavors he has in depth knowledge of Capital Markets and Banking, in the front, middle, and back offices. He has worked with all financial disciplines from various environments and platforms, including Quantitative Analysts, Financial Engineers, all types of Securities and Risk professionals, Operations and support functions. Harry has successfully conducted high level searches while also managing teams running mid/senior-level searches in an effort to best serve his client’s needs. Examples of his successfully completed global retained searches for high level executives within major Investment Banks include: Global Head of Fixed Income Technology, Global Head of Infrastructure, CIO’s of the Americas and Europe, Heads of Risk, Finance, Operations, and Legal, to name just a few.

Internationally, Mr. Plastik has effectively planned, opened and ran an office in the UK while splitting his time between London and New York. He brought a new business model to the UK that successfully changed the way recruitment was conducted in that country.

Outside the box:

Mr. Plastik is an accomplished chef, photographer, and dog lover. He also volunteers for the Tip of the Arrow Foundation, providing career counseling for American war veterans.



Bill Ayers: Senior Associate

Bill Ayers is a Senior Associate at SecuritiesTech™. Mr. Ayers shares responsibility for business development, client relationship management, and recruitment. He brings relevant Wall Street experience in servicing the Capital Markets, Business Services, and Media industries.

Prior to joining SecuritiesTech™ Mr. Ayers was an Associate at BMO Capital Markets in the Loan Products Group where he was responsible for originating and structuring bank loan transactions for companies in the Business Services and Media industries.

Prior to joining BMO, Mr. Ayers worked as an AVP for HSBC US's Client Services Unit as a Credit Analyst covering investment grade and high yield companies across diversified industries. Mr. Ayers began his career as an analyst at Independence Community Bank supporting the business development and client relationship efforts for the bank’s Business Banking Division.

Mr. Ayers received his BS in Finance from the University of Scranton's Kania School of Management in 2003.


Outside the Box:

Mr. Ayers is a competitive athlete, excelling in both team and individual sports. He played for the University of Scranton’s Men’s Lacrosse Team throughout college and was named Team Captain in his senior year. He is an avid Ice and rock climber. Both his role of leadership and his sense of adventure grew from his love for the outdoors and his successful quest to become an Eagle Scout. Since graduating from the University of Scranton, Mr. Ayers has led hundreds of climbs across the lower 48 states and numerous expeditions to remote mountains in the US and Canada. He also serves as our in-house guide for the vast climbing options in the Boulder area.

Garrett McCulloch: Associate Recruiter

Mr. McCulloch is an Associate Recruiter at SecuritiesTech and shares responsibility for the recruitment and research execution. Mr. McCulloch joined SecuritiesTech in early 2009 as an intern while attending the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business. Since joining the firm, he has supported searches in Capital Markets, Marketing, Public Relations, and Government Affairs across the US and India. His performance has led him to become an integral component of SecuritiesTech’s team and to his selection to support a strategic initiative in India.


Mr. McCulloch received his BS in Finance with a minor in Operations, Process, and Information Management from the Leed’s School of Business. McCulloch has a track record of accelerated performance, graduating from high school and college in three years, respectively.


Outside the box:

When he is not working, Garrett spends most of his free time fly fishing, hunting, snowboarding or traveling. He has traveled throughout the world, visiting 6 continents, over 20 countries, and 40 states. He is an active volunteer with Alliance for Smiles, and spent 3 weeks in rural China on a medical mission trip in May 2010.
